Demon Dragon WIP Face Closeup by AntWatkins Demon Dragon WIP Face Closeup by AntWatkins
Grrr!!! Rawr!!!

Just a closup of the dragons head. My next update will be when he is finished!

The head is 2 1/2" long from tip of nose to the back of his jaw (not including horns).

Super sculpey!

this is sculpey hard, right?
i haven't used it before, only the usual kind. (which IS too soft for my taste. eh.)

at any rate - wonderful work. i'd kill to know how you did all the creases and texture there.

Actually this is a mix of regular super sculpey and the firm, which softens it just enough to easily work with, yet firm enough to hold nice detail. The regular sculpey alone can be quite soft. Thanks again!!

I like how the mawl isn't a traditional style, it's more wild and untamed, great work!

You are awesome. What do you do with your sculpts after finishing them. Do you sell them? :la: I'd love to have one of your dragons.

Thank you! Stuff that I sculpt for fun, I do sell from time to time (unless it's a character design that would like to hold on to). I never would turn down a good offer, thats for sure :)

Amazing as always. How do you design the skin texture without all of those messy little flakes getting stuck on the sculpture? Always happens to me.

Thanks! You should get some 91% alchohol from the store, and get a paint brush...brush the alchohol over the sculpture as you are detailing. It softens the hard edges as well as cleaning the bits of excess clay. I use a lot of achohol during each sculpt.

omg it's still amazing *__* you made it with super sculpey ? So you have to bake it after finishing ? What kind of structure do you use ? I loove it !!

Thanks!!! Yes it is super sculpey, it will be baked when it's finished. I always use aluminum armature wire, then build out the bulky parts with aluminum foil. Then clay over that.
