Sea Dragon WIP turnaround by AntWatkins Sea Dragon WIP turnaround by AntWatkins
Further progress on this WIP. I am about to start sculpting it's body armor (scales, plating, etc). Here's a turnaround of how he's looking at this point.
Sculpted in Monster Clay!

Beautiful movement on the dragon. How thick of a steel armature do you use to prevent it to slip and keep the shape of it?

Sorry for the VERY late reply michelledragon. I used 1/4" aluminum armature on this. I bulked out most of the mass with tinfoil, then sculpted over that. Makes it MUCH lighter.

Wow what a vicious mother you have there! Thats amazing looks so real like a presurved fossil or pickled beast. In a way it reminds me of a Chest-Burster from the Alien fims.

Really sweet with this turn around. You've already nailed a fitting pose from all the angles.
Cheers for sharing. A great inspiration with all your sculptures.

Okay, so I'm just sitting here with my mouth hanging open; dragons and pretty much anything else fantastical fascinate me! Your work is strikingly detailed and engaging. I'll definately be back for more! (:
