Vacation Dragon bust sculpt by AntWatkins Vacation Dragon bust sculpt by AntWatkins
It is named Vacation sculpt because I took some chavant with me and worked on this while I was out of town for part of the holidays.

Although I can see a little cleaning up to be done, this guy is finished except for detailing the base. I took pictures of it at this point because I like the way the base looks--but I will finish the base with some type of detailing.

Sculpted in Chavant NSP Medium
8" tall from bottom of base to top of head.

I'll post pictures when he is finished. I think I will make molds and casts of this one.

Awsome makes me think of a lizard person, looks wierdly distinguished and charming even though he looks rather fierce too.

Thanks dude, just brushed the 2nd coat on him, gonna brush the third tomorrow just in case there needs to be a 4th before wednesday :) OH, and the silicone peeled off of the dragon just fine, so I applied a 2nd coat to the tail--figured, why not!?!

brushing sound like it's going good, glad to hear the silicone peeled off the dragon with no problem.

Great detail though it reminds me not of a dragon but a dragon/lizard man creature from the Dragonlance series at least what I can remember of the art from the AD&D modules (ooops my inner nerd got out for a moment ;)

My inner nerd never gets out, he sits right here on my shoulder for everyone to see :D
Thanks. I have not played D&D in so long, I think it was before Dragonlance, maybe not though...I remember having the Red box set and the Blue box set like 30 years ago, basic and expert I think. I loved that game. Couldn't wait to get home from school and play it.

Oh, what did you make the the teeth out of?

The teeth I made using super sculpey then baked, sometimes an easier method than sculpting the teeth in the oil clay.

Thank you. I would say about 5 hours or so. Not all at once, so it is a rough estimate.

That is rather hasty. You must have a lot of practice to be able to work that swiftly.
